For the naturally colored Easter eggs, put onion skins in a pot and pour cold water on them.
Place flowers, leaves or grasses on each egg and pull a stocking over it. Tie on the back side.
Place the eggs in the pot and add more cold water if necessary. Bring the water to a boil and continue cooking for about 15 minutes.
For a more intense color of the Easter eggs, extend the cooking time a little. The eggs get a nice brownish color.
Preparation Tip:
If you don't want a pattern on your Easter eggs, just place the eggs in the crock pot without anything on them and cook them, along with the onion skins, for 15 minutes or longer.
