For the spaghetti with tomato basil sauce, cook the spaghetti. In the meantime, thinly slice the garlic and chop the chili pepper (or hot pepper). (If you don’t want it so spicy, just remove the seeds). Heat oil, add garlic, chili and some of the basil, sauté briefly. Then add tomatoes (canned) and stir over high heat for 1 minute. Add the remaining basil, salt and pepper. When spaghetti is finished cooking, strain, and add to sauce. Stir pasta well with sauce. If you like, you can heat it again briefly over medium heat. Serve the spaghetti with tomato-basil sauce.
