For the cheese soup, put cheese, milk and whipping cream in a pot and heat. Season with a little salt and pepper and bring to the boil, stirring constantly.
Continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring repeatedly. Season again with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Dice the toast slice and fry in a pan together with the peeled and crushed garlic clove and herbs until the croutons are crispy.
Sprinkle over the hot cheese soup just before serving.
Preparation Tip:
If you feel like new flavors, you can also refine the cheese soup with whole caraway seeds for a change. Tastes delicious!
