Put all the ingredients in a wide bowl and mix with the water to form a smooth dough.
Take a shallow dish, the size of a soup plate, and grease it well with butter.
Pour the dough into it and spread it.
Bake at 160 degrees in a convection oven for about 60 minutes. Put a container of water on the bottom of the oven, then the bread will stay nice and moist.
Variation. With soaked dried fruit cut into small pieces and a few almonds you can turn it into a tasty clover bread. Serve with butter only.
