For the baked dumplings, boil milk with butter and pour in the flour. Boil for two minutes while stirring and then let cool.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C and butter a baking dish.

Divide the cheese into thirds.

Stir the eggs, mustard and a third of the grated cheese into the flour mixture and season with salt and pepper.

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and use a wet spoon to make dumplings from the dough. Place in the boiling water and let the gnocchi simmer for about 7 minutes.

Strain the dumplings and drain well. Put them into the baking dish.

Mix sour cream with yolk and one third of the cheese and drizzle over the dumplings.

Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake on the middle shelf for about half an hour, until the baked dumplings are nice and golden brown.

Preparation Tip:

Sauerkraut goes well with the baked dumplings, but also leaf salads.
