For baked onion rings, first peel the onions and cut them into thick slices. Carefully separate the rings and use only the larger ones.

In a shallow dish, mix the flour with a little baking powder. In another plate, whisk eggs with a little milk, add salt and pepper. In the last plate put the breadcrumbs.

Fold the onion rings one by one through the flour, eggs and breadcrumbs. Fry in deep fat (at about 190 °C) until crispy and golden. Briefly drain baked onion rings on paper towels, season with salt and serve while still hot.

Preparation Tip:

Serve baked onion rings with a dip (salsa or guacamole, for example) or as a side dish with meat or burgers.
