Clean the white cabbage and cut it into small strips. Cut bacon into cubes, fry in butter, add sugar molasses and cut white cabbage. Season with salt, pepper and thyme. Add water and cook for at least one hour.

It is very important to stir the cabbage mixture again and again so that it does not burn (therefore low heat). After some time the white cabbage will be brown and very tasty.

This recipe is served with ham and wholemeal bread and mustard.

The brown cabbage can be frozen very well and reheated in the micro.

Our tip: Use bacon with a subtle smoky note!
