A cake recipe for all foodies:

Cut figs into pieces, melt fat in a saucepan , vanillin, sugar, curd orange peel, salt, sugar, egg and the melted fat in a bowl form and stir with the whisk of a hand mixer. Combine the flour, baking powder and almond kernels and stir into the curd mixture in batches. Add figs and candied orange peel and stir in with the dough hook of the hand mixer.

Roll out the dough in an oval shape on a lightly floured work surface (approx. 25 x 35 cm) and shape into a stollen by folding the long sides over each other. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a heated oven at 200 °C for about 1 hour. Then cool on a cooling rack.

Heat the jam while stirring and spread through a sieve. Brush the hot Stollen with jam and cool well.

Knead the marzipan and 225 g of powdered sugar and roll out to a thickness of 2-3 mm on a surface lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Cut the overhanging ends into small pieces, roll out again and cut out stars with cookie cutters for decoration.
