A cake recipe for all foodies:

Choux pastry: heat sugar, milk, butter and salt. Pour flour into the hot liquid and toast. Then remove the dough from the saucepan and put it in a suitable bowl to cool. Into the dough, which has cooled a little, now gradually incorporate the eggs.

Brush a 30 cm diameter base on each of three greased and floured baking trays and bake at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Cut out the bases while still warm using a 26 cm ring and cool. Break the cake into small pieces and put aside in a baking dish.

Filling and cake assembly: Lightly caramelize the sugar and add the walnuts. Then transfer the caramelized walnuts to an oiled baking sheet and cool. Now chop them into small pieces. Whip the cream with sugar and cream stiffener. Now place a 26 cm ø ring around one of the choux pastry bases. Spread half of the powidl on the base and evenly spread one third of the whipped cream and one third of the walnuts on top. Spread the other choux pastry base with the remaining powidl and place in the ring mold.
