Instructions:

For gratinated minced meat loaf, peel, wash and finely dice onion. Peel and finely chop the garlic clove. Whisk the egg with vegetable broth and soak the dumpling bread with it.

Put minced meat in a bowl and knead well with onion, egg-bread mixture, caraway seeds, parsley, garlic clove, salt and pepper and let stand covered for 30 minutes.

Form 4 loaves from the meat mixture with moistened hands. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the meatballs in it over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side.

Remove from the pan and place in an ovenproof dish. Top each loaf with sliced tomatoes, sprinkle with chive rolls, top each with a slice of cheese and bake in a hot oven at 160 degrees for about 10 minutes until cheese melts.

Preparation Tip:

Scalloped mince patties can be served with fried potatoes, French fries, herbed baguette and/or fresh salad.
