Instructions:

For the baked meatballs in tomato cream sauce, first preheat the oven to approx. 200°C degrees.

For the meatballs, mix the minced meat with the egg, breadcrumbs and spices and season with salt and pepper. Form small meatballs from the mixture and fry them briefly on all sides in a pan with hot oil.

Then place the meatballs in a baking dish. For the tomato cream sauce, cut the tomatoes into cubes. Heat the butter in a pan and fry the tomatoes there briefly. Sprinkle with the flour and quickly sweat the flour. Then deglaze with the whipping cream and let it simmer a bit. Add the strained tomatoes and stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper and simmer a bit until the sauce is thick.

Then pour the sauce over the meatballs and finish by adding the sliced mozzarella on top of the meatballs. Bake the meatballs in the oven at 180 to 200°C degrees for about 20 minutes, until the mozzarella turns a little golden brown.

Serve the gratinated meatballs in tomato cream sauce fresh from the oven.
