For the Roasted Apple Compote, heat about 1/2 lt. of water, add the sugar and spices and cook until the liquid has thickened noticeably (about 20 minutes).

Peel the apples, cut them into quarters and remove the core. Cut the apple quarters into slices.

Heat the butter in a large frying pan and fry the apple slices until golden brown.

Pour the spiced syrup over the fried apple compote and serve warm.
