Instructions:

For spooky chocolate spiders, first cover a baking sheet with plastic wrap.

For the spider bodies, mix cream cheese, mascarpone, butter, sugar and cocoa until creamy. Gradually mix in cake crumbs and soletti crumbs until you have a mixture that is easy to shape. Roll twelve equal-sized balls from the cocoa mixture. Place on the prepared tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

In the meantime, melt the chocolate coating according to package directions. For the spider legs, break each soletti once to make one shorter piece and one longer piece. Line another baking sheet with baking paper.

Now assemble the spiders: Dip the cooled spider bodies one by one into the chocolate coating, let them drip off briefly and place them on the prepared tray. Coat the soletti pieces with chocolate coating as well, put 6-8 of the shorter pieces per spider into the body, stick the longer soletti pieces to it with chocolate coating. Sprinkle the spiders with chocolate sprinkles and glue two sugar eyes on the front of each. Let dry completely. (To firm up some spots, coat with chocolate glaze one more time as needed).

Refrigerate spooky chocolate spiders until ready to serve.
