For the wholemeal spaetzle, combine all ingredients and beat until a thick dough is formed.

Spread this in batches onto a spaetzle board rinsed with cold water and, using a wide knife, slip thin strips of dough into gently boiling salted water.

When the spaetzle float to the surface, remove, toss briefly in hot water and transfer to a colander.

Preparation Tip:

The wholemeal spaetzle are a healthy side dish. But you can also eat them as a main course, for example, sprinkling them with cheese or the like.
